MAYA M

Hi my name is Maya. This is my first year as a counselor at DSC, but I’ve been a counselor many times before at other camps. I taught swim lessons for over 5 years. Teaching swim lessons I had to be very creative at 15 years old coming up with games to help kids learn to swim. I nannied kids for a few years. When some parents needed someone to start their kids learning phonics and prepping for preschool;  I researched and trained myself. I care a lot for others, I am very observant, and I put a lot of effort into my job like every day is as important as the last. During the school year I coach sports. On my free time I enjoy nature and my family; including my dog Thor.

MITESH J

Hi, my name is Mitesh Jain, and this will be my first summer with Decathlon! I was raised in Los Altos my whole life and will be graduating from Los Altos High School this year with the class of 2026. I will be starting my freshman year of college at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where I will be majoring in mechanical engineering. I have always loved sports, and growing up, I tried many sports, either competitively or just for fun, including baseball, basketball, soccer, and football. But my main sport has always been baseball, which I have been playing since T-ball, and I played baseball at Los Altos High School for all 4 years (2 on JV and 2 on varsity). When I was a kid, I was also a part of sports summer camps just like Decathlon, and now I am super excited to be able to work for a camp where I can help young campers make incredible memories just like I did!

RHYS

Hi! My name is Rhys Johnson, and I am a rising sophomore at Wilcox high school. I played basketball for my middle school,(Keys), and I am hoping to make the Junior varsity team next year. I have been coming to Decathlon for seven years, and every year just keeps getting better. When I first came to camp as a rising fourth grader it was scary. But now getting to know people and playing countless activities makes Decathlon one of my favorite parts of summer. I am looking forward to my first year being a Junior Counselor because I get to form deeper bonds with people. During my free time I usually play basketball with my friends or watch my favorite team, the Golden State Warriors. I have been in the bay since I was two years old and Decathlon is one of the best things about it. Decathlon has always been a place where I could just play, nowadays just playing outside is quite rare, so it's always nice to get outside especially during the summer. I’ve always been an active kid whether it is just running in the backyard or kicking a soccer ball over the fence. That’s why I feel like Decathlon is perfect for kids like me. I hope to make this summer incredibly fun and memorable for everyone.

FAITH C

Hi, my name is Faith, and I’m so excited to be joining the Decathlon team for my first summer as a counselor! I grew up in San Jose and recently earned my Associate’s Degree in Elementary Education. This fall, I’ll be transferring to California Baptist University to continue my studies in the same field. I’ve had the opportunity to work with students as a swim instructor and as a counselor at Hume Lake, both of which have strengthened my passion for mentoring kids and creating fun, positive learning environments. Sports have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up playing volleyball and softball, and in high school I discovered a love for competitive swimming and water polo. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my family and being outside. I have 4 siblings and a crazy dog named Bane! I am super excited to be able to work at the Decathlon Los Altos and am looking forward to meeting all of your athletes!

EVAN D

Hi! My name is Evan DeNardi, and I just finished my sophomore year at St. Francis High School. This will be my second summer as a Junior Counselor, and I’m excited to be back at Decathlon Sports Camp! I’ve been part of Decathlon since first grade, so this camp has been a huge part of my life. I have so many great memories here, and I’m looking forward to helping create those same fun and memorable experiences for this year’s campers.

I’m a graduate of St. Simon Parish School and the older brother of Liam, who is currently in fifth grade. I play both basketball and lacrosse at St. Francis, and I was honored to earn High Honors as a Scholar Athlete. Lacrosse is my main sport, and I can’t wait to spend the summer with all of you and help make this an awesome camp experience!

MAX K

Hi, My name is Max, and this is my 7th summer at decathlon and my 1st as a junior counselor. I was born and raised in Mountain View. I am a rising sophomore at Mountain View high school. I have played basketball, volleyball and track and field. However, my favourite sport to play and watch is football. Outside of sports, some things I enjoy doing are hiking, singing in choir, and taking photos of cars. Every year I go to car shows to see all the cool cars. I am on the JV robotics team at high school, and we work together on the team to build and design robots. Singing is also fun for me so I have been in choir for 4 years. Also, I participate in a chess club and I like to do puzzles. I loved being a camper at Decathlon, and am looking forward to making that same fun experience for others!

Group 3

SHANNON C

Hi! My name is Shannon Cox, and I am excited for my first summer as a counselor at Decathlon! I am an incoming junior at Biola University in SoCal, but have spent most of my summers in the Bay Area. I attended highschool in Tanzania, where I played an assortment of competitive sports, including basketball, track and field, rugby, cross country, and netball. However, the love of my life is volleyball, which I have played competitively since 9 years old. I played on club and school teams, coached younger students, competed in beach and indoor, and even spent a semester on a team at a University in South Africa. I am looking forward to coaching and spending time getting to know Decathalon's athletes this summer!

RONI

My name is Roni, and I am an energetic student at Gunn High School who is passionate about sports, music, and working with others. I started attending Decathlon Camp five years ago and have loved the camp and its community ever since.

I have been involved in a variety of sports since I was little. Throughout middle school and high school, I have played on basketball, flag football, volleyball, soccer, and tennis teams.

In addition to sports, I have a strong passion for music. I play four different musical instruments and was the lead singer of a girls’ band. Over the past three years, my band and I have performed at various events. I also enjoy dancing.

I have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to connect with people and children. I enjoy taking on new challenges, learning new skills, and making a positive impact. I look forward to spending time with your children and helping create a fun and memorable experience for them.

EMILIO P

I enjoy being outdoors and staying active whenever I can. One of my favorite ways to relax is just spending time with people I enjoy being around. My favorite food is sushi, and I always look forward to eating it whenever I get the chance. Overall, sports and outdoor activities are a big part of who I am, and I’m always excited to keep improving and trying new things.

Group 4

MATT SEGAL

Hello campers, my name is Matt and this is my fourth year as a Counselor at Decathlon Club. However, I was previously a camper at Decathlon Club over 15 years ago! I earned my Teaching Credential in Physical Education in September of 2023 from San Jose State University. I graduated from Monta Vista High School in 2011 and from Washington State University in 2015 (the same school Klay Thompson went to, Go Cougs/Former Warrior). I am super excited to continue to be part of this community as I have very fond memories. As a former camper, what I enjoyed most about Decathlon Club was the friendly and energetic staff that truly cared about having a safe and fun environment. My favorite activity at Decathlon Club is Capture the Flag because I enjoy running. While I enjoy a variety of sports (football, basketball, street hockey), my favorite sport is baseball. I am also a big San Francisco Giants fan. Go Giants!

An interesting fact about myself is that I was a Personal Trainer. This is where my love and passion for physical activity started before becoming a PE Teacher. I love to exercise! Outside of school, sports, and exercising, I am a huge book worm. I am always reading a book and enjoy a variety of genres: fantasy, science fiction, sports, and nonfiction.

My goal is that you have a fun and memorable summer at Decathlon Club and will find at least one activity that you learned and played in camp and will continue to enjoy after camp ends. Oh, and make lots of friends of course!

TYLER H

Hi, my name is Tyler Hallada, and this is my second summer at Decathlon. I just finished my first year at the University of Oregon as a sports business major. I was born and raised in Palo Alto and have been involved in many sports growing up including basketball, football, soccer, baseball, and volleyball. In high school I played basketball, volleyball, and football. On top of playing sports I also coached three boys basketball teams at JLS middle school. My goal at decathlon is to give the campers an amazing experience that will create memories and build themselves as an athlete. I am super excited to be working at Decathlon, and I wouldn’t want to spend my summer any other way!

WES C

Hi! My name is Wes Calhoun, and I am a rising senior at Los Alto High School. I have been at Decathlon for over 10 years now, and some of my best memories of summer have been with this amazing camp! I am a third year junior counselor, and I couldn't be more excited for this summer. I am and always have been a very active kid, and this camp is perfect for me! It's allowed me to meet new people I never would have otherwise met, and I have made new friendships and bonded with counselors more than I ever thought I would. Some of the amazing staff have become my role models, and I've looked up to them for years. Outside of camp, some of my favorite sports are basketball and baseball, both of which I have played for all my years at Los Altos High. I have also been a part of karate, swimming, soccer, and wrestling, and have loved to stay active.

This camp has helped me become more of a leader and mentor than I ever thought I would be. It's boosted my confidence and my success, and I'm sure it will for your kid too! I have 2 siblings that both have come to camp, one of whom is a J8 this year. This camp has become a part of my life and a tradition for every summer. I look forward to it every year and can't wait to keep it going. It has taught me so much, and I know your camper will feel the same way I do by the end of it!

Group 5

CARLOS A

Hi there! My name is Carlos Acosta, and I was born and raised in Colombia, where my passion for sports took root at an early age. Soccer has been a constant in my life since I was 7 years old and I also began training at Compensar, a well-regarded sports academy in Colombia. Two years later, I expanded my athletic journey by taking up basketball as well. Through Compensar, I had the opportunity to compete nationally in the "Pony Fútbol" league, a formative experience that shaped me both as a player and as a competitor.

Over the years, I've continued to grow on and off the field. Most recently, I competed at a semi-professional level representing my university, ECI, in Colombia, a proud milestone in my athletic career. I am currently pursuing a degree in Foreign Languages at Uniminuto University, where I continue to challenge myself academically.

This will be my fifth year at camp, and I couldn't be more excited to return. Each summer brings new connections, new memories, and new opportunities to grow and I look forward to making the most of every moment.

LUKE

Hi, my name is Luke Friedman, and I am excited to be working at Decathlon this summer! Having spent eight summers at camp, I have found Decathlon to be filled with some of my favorite memories. Whether it was playing Capture the Flag, wiffle ball, and street hockey with friends or enjoying popsicles after a day of activities, camp has always been something I looked forward to each year. Now, as a junior counselor, I am thrilled to help create those same fun and memorable experiences for this year's campers.

Staying active has always been an important part of my life. Over the years, I have participated in a variety of sports, including water polo, baseball, and soccer. Outside of organized sports, I enjoy skiing and mountain biking. Through these activities, I have learned the importance of teamwork, confidence, and supporting those around me.

As a counselor, my goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and positive environment where every camper feels included and encouraged to try new things. I want camp to be a place where kids can have fun, build friendships, gain confidence, and make lasting memories. I am looking forward to an incredible summer and some amazing experiences!

Group 6

JONAH

Hi! My name is Jonah Altschuler and this will be my second year working at Decathlon! I attended Decathlon as a camper for 4 years, and my time there sparked my love for sports from a very young age. I love playing and watching sports, and I currently play both soccer and baseball for Los Altos High School, and have played competitive club soccer throughout my life. Sports have played an instrumental role in my life, as they have taught me the values of teamwork, resilience, and hard work. I can't wait to use what I've learned to create a great experience for the campers! I will be going into my freshman year at Emory University, where I will be majoring in International Relations. I love traveling and experiencing new cultures and lifestyles, along with playing sports with my friends and trying new things. I can’t wait to meet all of your kids this summer while working at Decathlon, and I look forward to being a camp counselor!

BROOKLYN

Hi, my name is Brooklyn Jackson, and this is my first summer at Decathlon. I live in San Jose, and I attend Saint Francis High School. I am a sophomore in high school and I love to play all sports. I currently play for my school's basketball team and through basketball I have learned what it means to be a good teammate and person. I have been able to meet a lot of cool people because of basketball as well. Having a dad that was a former physical education teacher, he knows almost every rule to every sport, and he was able to introduce me to various different types of sports at a young age. From this experience I have grown to love all sports and have a large appreciation for what sports have done for me. I enjoy being outside and doing physical activity, which is why I'm really looking forward to spending the summer working at Decathlon Sports Club, and I am really looking forward to getting to meet your kids. I have full confidence that we will have a lot of fun this summer!

Group 7

JAYDEN MINOR

Hi, my name is Jayden, and this is my first year working at camp. I graduated from Mountain View High School last year and am currently finishing my first year of college, where I study business and play basketball for my school. Growing up, I played a variety of sports, including football, soccer, baseball, and basketball, which helped shape my love for teamwork and competition.

Outside of school and sports, I enjoy golfing, hiking, working out, and spending time with friends. I also love hanging out with my nieces and nephews and doing my best to live up to my role as the “cool uncle.” I am excited to be a part of Decathlon this summer and look forward to creating fun memories and meeting so many new people.

10th year at Decathlon! I have attended Decathlon over half of my life, and am very honored to be a Counselor again this year. I am a rising Junior at Fremont Highschool. My favorite sports are soccer and football. I played soccer for more than 8 years on a club team, as well as my middle and highschool teams. Group 8

MATTHEW L

Hi my name is Matthew Lundstrom,

This summer will be my 6th year at Decathlon Sports Club. I started at Decathlon as a 5th grader in Group 10. I’m currently a Freshman at Mountain View High School and this will be my first year as a Junior Counselor. I’m really excited to be a Junior Counselor this year. I had a lot of fun with group 6 as a J8 last year. When I first started camp the biggest thing that made it special were the Counselors and JC’s. I hope to bring the same energy to my group that made camp feel special for me. Throughout my life I have played many sports competitively including; ice hockey, flag football, baseball, soccer and my main sports right now, wrestling and MMA. I am a county champion wrestler and state placer so feel free to ask me about wrestling or any other sports. When I grow up, I want to be a police officer or a business owner. I can not wait to meet my group and bring the energy to camp that made it feel special for me.

CHARLIE

Hi! My name is Charlie Premo, and I’m a local Bay Area kid from Willow Glen. I graduated from Bellarmine in 2023, and I’m now entering my Senior year at Gonzaga University where I am majoring in Finance and Data Analysis with a minor in Sports Management. Sports have always been a very important part of my life, starting when I was a young kid attending my older brother’s games and watching the giants dynasty start. I was a very energetic kid and loved running around, so my mom signed me up for every sport she could think of (probably so I would stop annoying her)! I played little league baseball, soccer, flag football, and my eventual favorite sport basketball. I played other sports throughout my life, including volleyball and running cross country, and participated in various sports for fun with my friends and family like pickleball, tennis, and hockey. However, basketball will always be my favorite, and I joined travel basketball teams in Middle and High School and played for my school. Around Covid, I lost a lot of motivation and passion for sports and basketball, and ended up falling out of it for a couple years, before getting back into it now that I’m at college. My friends and I play every intramural sport we can, and for basketball I’m our designated “player coach” because of my background experience. I am a diehard Bay Area Sports fan and love attending as many Giants games as I can while I’m home. This will be my first summer at Decathlon, however I participated in very similar camps all across the Bay Area, and I’m really excited to get started!

Group 9

LUIS G

I’m Luis Gonzalez, an 18-year-old graduate of Adrian C. Wilcox High School in Santa Clara, Class of 2025. During high school, I was actively involved in athletics, competing in football, track, baseball, and soccer, where I had the honor of serving as captain during my senior year. I currently attend Mission College, where I am studying Communications. Born and raised in Sunnyvale, California, I continue to take pride in serving and giving back to my local community. I am also a Mountain View Police Cadet, where I have completed over 150 hours of community service assisting with local school and community events throughout the Mountain View area. Through this experience, I have developed a strong passion for mentoring and supporting younger generations, not only as a role model, but also as someone they can trust and rely on. In addition, I attended a Mock Police Academy at the College of San Mateo, where I earned certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED. The academy also provided me with valuable knowledge about the fundamentals of policing, leadership, and serving the community with integrity and respect. Soccer has always been one of my greatest passions. I have played for numerous clubs throughout Santa Clara County and continue to enjoy the sport through weekend leagues and competition. My love for working with children began during my high school years while babysitting as a side job, and since then, my passion for helping and guiding kids has only continued to grow.I hope to use my experiences in sports, leadership, and community service to positively impact the lives of young people. Above all, I want every child I work with to know they are supported, valued, and never alone.

MATTHEW W

Hi! My name is Matthew and I am a rising junior at St Francis High School. My two main sports are soccer and track. I currently play soccer for MVLA and did play for my high school team. I also run track for my high school team and have recently joined a club team so I can run at a competitive level during the summer. I have been coming to Decathlon for eight years now, and each summer has been super fun! This camp has brought me so many lessons and memories that I will remember for the rest of my life. Being a camper and JCIT and getting involved in this camp has been some of the best moments in my life, and I am super excited for what this summer as a JC has to bring. I can’t wait to make some incredible memories with all the young campers this summer just like I did at the camp!

Group 10

Sports have been an immense aspect in my life ever since I was young. I loved competition and team work. I have played more sports than I could count but my two favorites are football and rugby as I played both all throughout high school. I was also born and raised in the Bay Area and I truly love it there. One of the reasons I love coming back every summer is because I get to spend my time working with such a great community of people here at Decathlon. Seeing so many familiar faces every summer brings a huge smile to my face. I want to be able to give your kids the same experience I had when I was a camper and I can’t wait to meet you all. I was born and raised in the Bay Area and recently completed my sophomore year at Mountain View High School, where I play water polo. Sports have always been a big part of my life growing up, and I also enjoy playing basketball and soccer with friends whenever I can.

When I’m not playing sports or at school, I enjoy playing guitar, learning about robotics, and spending time with friends and family. I’m especially interested in engineering and robotics and hope to become a mechanical engineer someday. I also enjoy listening to reggae rock music and trying new things during the summer. Having a younger brother has definitely helped me stay energetic, competitive, and always ready for something active or fun.

I’m really looking forward to spending the summer working at Decathlon Sports Club. Decathlon has been a huge part of my summers growing up, and I’m excited to now help create the same experience for this year’s campers

YASMIN D

Hi!! My name is Yasmin Dastmalchi and this is my 10th summer here at Decathlon. I am very much looking forward to my second year working here as a JC! I am 15 years old and a rising Junior at Mountain View High School. I've always loved playing sports, games, and just spending time outdoors - so Decathlon is somewhere I can continually count on to enjoy those activities and make the most out of my summer every year. Outside of school, I love soccer, dance, and spending time with friends and family. I played competitive soccer for about 12 years and have been dancing the last few years as well! All of those things have shaped my values, and I apply them to my daily life - especially at camp. After high school, I hope to attend a University in California with a Pre-Medical undergraduate degree, to later go to medical school and pursue my dream of becoming a Children's Doctor (pediatrician). I love biology and working with kids, so becoming a pediatrician feels like the right path for me. Being a JC at Decathlon gives me an incredible opportunity to follow my passion of working with kids, while having so much fun. I’m so grateful to be part of this team, and I hope to help make camp just as fun and memorable for others as it has always been for me!

I joined Decathlon when I was eight years old – and I’ve loved coming back every year since then! For my last two years, I was a Junior Counselor in Training. My favorite part about camp is the opportunity to build so many new connections and friendships – the Decathlon community is so welcoming and fun, and I cannot wait to be able to provide new and returning campers the same experience I had growing up! Outside of camp, I regularly participate in the performing arts (acting, singing, dancing) as I would love to one day become a working actress! I have played a variety of team sports throughout my life and my time at Decathlon, such as club soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and dance. I look forward to making new memories with our wonderful community!

I was born and raised here in Mountain View, and I’m so grateful to have been able to grow up at this camp. I have met many of my closest friends at Decathlon, and I have made so many fun memories here. I also have two younger sisters who are campers, and I love being able to spend our summers together. I currently go to Saint Francis High School, and I just finished my freshman year. This year I did sideline and competitive cheer, and was able to compete at CIF State. Whether I’m chasing sunsets in the Rancho San Antonio hills with friends, playing sports with my siblings, or heading out for an early morning run, I love staying active and being outdoors. I also really enjoy working with kids, whether I’m babysitting my neighbors, volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club, or teaching tennis to children with autism through ACEing Autism on Sunday mornings. Some of my best childhood memories were made at Decathlon, and I’m so excited to help create the same fun, supportive, and unforgettable experience for all of your campers!

MIA J

Hi! My name is Mia, and I am currently going into my sophomore year at Los Altos High School! This will be my fifth and hall of fame year at Decathlon, and I am so excited to be working with your kids this summer! Throughout my life, my life has always revolved around sports, from when I started playing soccer when I was 3, and now competitively, to learning how to play volleyball, basketball, field hockey, and run track throughout middle school and my freshman year. Outside of school, I enjoy both nature and sports photography, and I also enjoy spending time with my friends. I also love singing in choir, and have been in my school's choirs for 4 years now, and will continue throughout my high school career. I hope to have a career working in sports physical therapy someday, and that has been reflected deeply through the classes that I take at school. I am so grateful to be a part of this team of amazing staff, and I can't wait to have an amazing summer!!

Group 14

CAMI M

Hi! My name is Cami Motil, and this is my second summer at Decathlon. I am so excited and happy to be back! The memories I get to make at this camp are priceless. I am a sophomore at the University of Dayton, where I am majoring in education with a concentration in history. At school, I am an executive member of the Dance Team and participate in prep classes for the Cincinnati Bengals NFL Dance Team. Before college, I was involved in multiple sports, including basketball, soccer, and track.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my friends and family. My friends and I enjoy having study sessions and movie nights together at school. When I am with my family, our favorite activities are shopping with my siblings and going to the beach with my mom. I am so excited to be back at Decathlon. I missed it dearly last year and cannot wait to have a fantastic summer with everyone!

MEGAN T

Hi! My name is Megan, and I am a rising junior at Gunn High School. I have learned to love to keep my body active, stemming in part from my very active family who got me involved in skiing, running, and hiking as a kid. I started kicking a soccer ball when I was just three years old and learned to bike even earlier. Now I play flag football, soccer, and track for my high school and love being part of the sports community. I have gone to Decathlon every year since kindergarten (except the COVID year) and fell in love with the community and friendly environment that the camp creates, the opportunity to play so many different sports, and obviously the popsicles! I am so excited to continue giving back to the community that helped teach me so much about not only sports but attitude and sportsmanship. I am so excited to get to know all my campers and help them have as much fun this summer at Decathlon as I have had every year!

ZOE T

Hi! My name is Zoe, and this will be my 10th summer at Decathlon! I'm currently a rising junior at Nueva High School, with a highlight of my time there being a part of the sports teams. I played indoor volleyball, soccer, and beach volleyball during my freshman and sophomore years, while also playing soccer for my club team. In my free time, I like to draw, paint, hang out with my friends, play with my dog, as well as go camping, rock climbing, and exploring the outdoors. Some of my most fond summer memories as a kid involved trying anything I wanted for a week, like a high-adventure camp in Tahoe, a soccer-sleepaway camp, or a makers camp. Today, I still enjoy trying new things. Even so, I've always enjoyed returning to Decathlon, and there was always something new to learn and do. As a camper, my favorite sports were gaga ball, soccer, and CTF. I love being a part of the Decathlon community because everyone is so welcoming and kind, and the teachings are educational about sportsmanship. If I could go anywhere right now, the decision would be a tie between scuba diving at the beach and shredding the mountain slopes, because I love traveling and the outdoors. I enjoy working with kids, and I frequently volunteer at a family friend's preschool when I'm available. I'm so grateful for this opportunity, because I enjoyed being a JCIT and JC the last couple of summers, and I love trying new sports. I can’t wait to work with your kids!

PAIGE

Hi, my name is Paige Leban, and this is my 10th summer at Decathlon. I’m 19 years old, and I just finished my first year at Macalester College in Minnesota, where I’m majoring in biochemistry. My favorite sport is soccer, and I have been playing since I was 6 years old. I currently play soccer for my college's club team. Outside of sports, I like to do photography and hang out with my friends. This is my fifth year working as a camp counselor, and I am very excited! When I was a camper, Decathlon was always a highlight of my summer, and I can't wait to continue my time at camp for another year. I'm looking forward to spending another summer working at Decathlon!

NORA K

Hi! My name is Nora, and this is my tenth summer at Decathlon Sports Club. I am a rising junior at Mountain View High School, and I am so excited to return for my second summer as a Junior Counselor. Having attended camp every year since kindergarten, I know firsthand what there is to look forward to, and I hope to share that same excitement with your children. Growing up in this community, I have seen how the friendships and memories built here can last a lifetime. Athletics and the outdoors are a huge part of my life; I am a competitive fencer and also assist in coaching younger athletes at my club. I love staying active through biking, swimming, and hiking, and I cannot wait to bring that energy and more this summer. My favorite part of being a JC is watching campers build confidence as they try new things. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of this community and look forward to making this summer fun and memorable for everyone!

ELLIE W

Hi, my name is Ellie, and this is my 13th summer at camp. I started attending when I was 6 years old after hearing how much my older brother loved it, and I’ve come back every summer since. This is my fifth year on staff and my second as a counselor. I always have a great time with my group and love getting to know each camper.

I’m from Mountain View, California, where I grew up playing a variety of sports including softball, gymnastics, soccer, volleyball, and basketball. In high school, I focused on basketball, playing all four years on my school team, and also spent a season playing flag football.

I recently completed my first year at the University of Oregon, where I’m studying sports business and administration. I’ve loved my experience so far, especially getting involved with the Women’s Basketball team as an analytics assistant and continuing to play basketball for fun.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with friends, being outdoors, staying active, and cooking. I’m excited to be back at camp for another great summer and look forward to making more memories!

JAMIE W

Hi everyone! My name is Jamie, and this is my first summer with Decathlon. I was born and raised in Sunnyvale, California, and grew up in a very active and competitive family with two older brothers. Sports have always been a huge part of my life—I played soccer for many years, competed in basketball and volleyball, and have been doing high jump since seventh grade. I am currently a student-athlete at Boise State University, where I compete on the track and field team and study Marketing. I love working with kids and have enjoyed helping my teammates Run Club for children ages 4–12. Outside of school and sports, I enjoy spending time outdoors fishing, hiking, hunting, and surfing, and I love listening to country music and reggae. I'm excited to meet everyone, have a great summer, and help create a fun, positive, and memorable experience!

Tapan Dave

Hi, my name is Tapan Dave, and this is my third summer at Decathlon as a Director. I was born and raised in San Jose and am proud to be able to be a part of Decathlon! Having a twin, younger brother who was extremely competitive prepared me for the many sports that I would play in the future. I was more than ready to play sports as early as 5 years old. I played volleyball, basketball, and track throughout my schooling. When college came, I completed my tenureship with both Bachelors and Masters degrees with the goal of teaching. Most of my time in college was spent mastering my craft in teaching students various skills and topics while also fostering a growth mindset. I am also an Athletic Director who strives to give students an opportunity to grow and experience sports in a positive environment. I’m looking forward to spending the summer working at Decathlon Sports Club. I wouldn't want to spend my summer any other way, and I hope to make your kids feel the same way! Let's have an amazing summer!
